🎥 Toronto stun Messi and company as Miami now winless in five games | OneFootball

Toronto FC made a statement at Nu Stadium in Miami on Saturday after beating the hosts 2-1.

There wasn't anything to separate the sides for roughly the first hour of action, with neither the Canadian club nor Lionel Messi's Herons registering a shot on target. 

Then it all changed in the blink of an eye.

Star signing Josh Sargent scored his fourth of the season after being left unmarked on the edge of the box and and curling home despite heavy traffic in front of him.

Then it was Derrick Etienne Junior who was again involved in the goal contributions, after setting up the play for the first.

He found himself unmarked wide right and bundled the ball home from a tight angle after reacting quickest.

It was a headache defensively for Miami, who were sluggish to the ball on both occasions. All eyes, of course, later turned to Messi to perhaps pull them out of their mess.

And he almost did. 

The Argentina star once again linked up with Rodrigo De Paul to turn the game 2-1, but his individual efforts stopped there.

The result goes down as Miami's fourth MLS loss of the season. They are now winless in five games across all competitions.
