  • Tottenham could identify Omar Marmoush as a second Manchester City target this summer, with manager Roberto De Zerbi described as a “big admirer.”
  • The interest comes alongside Spurs’ continued pursuit of Etihad Stadium forward Savinho.
  • De Zerbi has already overseen a busy summer rebuild at Spurs, with over £200 million spent strengthening defence and midfield before turning attention to the forward line.

Manchester City could yet face a second transfer pursuit from Tottenham with manager Roberto De Zerbi a reported admirer in one of the Etihad Stadium’s strikers.

Savinho’s situation has developed quickly in recent weeks, with the Brazilian winger pushing for a move to North London in search of regular first-team football, with reports placing Tottenham’s interest at a fee in the region of £60-65 million.

De Zerbi has made no secret of his admiration for the 22-year-old forward as he continues to reshape his squad following back-to-back difficult Premier League campaigns, while Omar Marmoush’s situation is less advanced but carries similar undertones.

The Egyptian international endured a difficult first full season at Manchester City after his move from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025, starting just eight of 21 league appearances despite the goalscoring pedigree that first attracted the club’s interest.

Marmoush is likely to speak directly with Enzo Maresca before making any decision on his future, meaning any Tottenham approach may hinge as much on the new Etihad Stadium head coach’s plans as on Spurs’ own ambitions.

Omar Marmoush attracts admiration from Tottenham

Now, according to Football London’s Alasdair Gold, Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi is a ‘big admirer’ of Manchester City and Egypt international striker Omar Marmoush, with the North London side looking to bolster their attacking ranks this summer.

A double raid on Man City in the works?

Should both moves progress, Manchester City would face the prospect of losing two first-team forwards in the same window – a scenario made more plausible by Roberto De Zerbi’s evident willingness to raid the Etihad Stadium more than once this summer.

For City, much may come down to prioritisation as Savinho’s situation looks the more advanced of the two, and a willing stance could make a swift second departure less likely purely from a squad-management perspective.

Omar Marmoush’s outcome is likely to hinge on conversations with Enzo Maresca during pre-season, and should the coach see a role for him, City may resist any Tottenham interest more firmly than they are expected to with Savinho.
