Brazilian outcast could come in from the cold in Carabao Cup

The Brazilian has been omitted from Spurs' Premier League squad, until at least January, as the club looked to move him on in the final days of the transfer window.

A return to Everton collapsed on Deadline Day, before moves to Saudi Arabia and then back to his homeland with Vasco de Gama also failed to materialise.

It leaves Richarlison facing more than three months on the sidelines, but he is eligible to play in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening due to it being an English Football League competition, rather than a Premier League match.

Many Spurs fans have pointed out Richarlison's scoring record against Liverpool, which reads as six goals in 18 games including home and away for Spurs last season.

But not all fans want to see Richarlison back on the pitch, with some citing his reported indecision over staying at the club this summer and others insisting the club must stick to their guns after excluding the striker.

There has been no suggestion from Roberto De Zerbi that Richarlison is in contention to play at Anfield.

Dominic Solanke started the 0-0 draw with Everton, but registered the least amount of touches of any player on the pitch before being substituted in the second half.

Omar Marmoush is most likely to start in the focal point of the attack, supported by Savio and Mohammed Kudus as Mathys Tel pushes to return to the starting line-up.
