Spurs officially announced the deal on Friday, with manager Roberto De Zerbi praising the experience and winning mentality Robertson will bring to his squad.

The Italian described the defender as a player he has admired for many years and believes his leadership qualities will prove valuable both on and off the pitch.

Robertson leaves Liverpool as one of the most decorated full-backs in the club’s modern history. He has made 378 appearances, bagging 14 goals and 69 assists.

He played a key role in one of the most successful periods in Liverpool’s recent history, helping them win two Premier League titles, the Champions League, the FA Cup and two League Cups.

The defender was renowned for his relentless energy, attacking quality and consistency during his peak years under Jurgen Klopp.

Alongside former teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold, Robertson helped redefine the role of a modern attacking full-back and was instrumental in Liverpool’s success domestically and in Europe.

While Robertson still made 36 appearances across all competitions last season, he started only 11 Premier League matches as Liverpool increasingly looked towards a younger option at left-back.

That situation ultimately paved the way for his departure when his contract expired this summer.

Tottenham had explored the possibility of signing Robertson during the winter transfer window, but Liverpool were unwilling to sanction a mid-season exit.

They reignited their interest once it became clear he would be available on a free transfer.

His signing represents another statement of intent from Spurs as they look to build under De Zerbi and continue moving forward after securing their Premier League status on the final day of last season.
