New manager under pressure to deliver results ahead of Champions League test

Tottenham are set to keep faith with manager Igor Tudor despite overseeing three defeats from his three games in charge.

The former Juventus and Lazio manager has been brought in to steady the ship, following Thomas Frank’s miserable eight-month spell in charge.

But losses to Arsenal, Fulham and Crystal Palace have left Spurs just one point above the Premier League relegation zone, putting them in significant danger of the drop.

A miserable 3-1 defeat at home to Palace on Thursday night saw Tudor face questions over his future just weeks after his appointment.

Tudor was appointed on a contract which runs until the end of the season, and there is currently no suggestion that it will be extended beyond that, even if Spurs avoid the drop.

But Spurs have confirmed that Tudor will be in charge for at least one more game.

The Croat will hold the traditional pre-match press conference, alongside an as-yet-unnamed player, in Madrid on Monday evening, to discuss the Champions League last-16 first-leg clash against Atleti.

He is also set to conduct an open training session with his squad earlier in the day at Hotspur Way, from 11.30am, before players and staff fly to Spain.

Spurs have seen their only successes of 2026 come in Europe, but face a daunting task to extend that run at the Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid.

The tricky trips do not let up, either, with Spurs set to travel to Anfield in the Premier League four days later to avoid a sixth consecutive league loss.
