Tottenham Hotspur are considering the shock appointment of Sean Dyche as head coach.
Igor Tudor is under pressure just four games into his caretaker role at the club, with Spurs have suffered four consecutive losses under the Croatian.
The North Londoners are on a club-record run of six straight defeats in all competitions and were thrashed 5-2 at Atletico Madrid in the Champions League this week.
Their fortunes in the Premier League are similarly difficult. Spurs have not won in 11 league games and now sit just a point above the bottom three, with a first relegation since 1974 a genuine prospect.
According to The Independent, Spurs are considering the drastic decision of replacing Tudor with Dyche for the run-in.
The former Everton and Nottingham Forest manager is considered a ‘survival specialist’ with optimism that he could solidify a Spurs side that have struggled badly in recent weeks.
It’s part of an overview of the club, with approaches also underway to Dougie Freedman and Bournemouth’s Tiago Pinto about potential sporting director roles. Freedman previously worked at Crystal Palace.
Dyche’s arrival would be the latest stunning event in a season plunged into crisis. However, the 54-year-old is understood to be ‘reluctant’ to take a short-term role, while there could also be complications over his payout from relegation rivals Nottingham Forest.
