Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a fresh injury blow with Dominic Solanke ruled out of Sunday's Premier League clash with Everton.

The 27-year-old, who joined Spurs in the summer on a six-year contract in a deal reportedly worth £55m, has made a great impression in north London, registering seven Premier League goals and a further four in all competitions.

Solanke's overall play as the central striker has earned widespread praise from Spurs' supporters, despite the club's recent poor form.

A trip to Goodison Park to face struggling Everton is seen as an ideal opportunity for Ange Postecoglou's side to reverse a run of results that has seen Spurs win just one of their last nine Premier League games, losing six.

Mail Sport report that Solanke will not be available, though, having picked up a knee injury either during or post the north London derby defeat to Arsenal on Wednesday night.

There are concerns that Solanke could be sidelined for an extended period - something Postecoglou is expected to address when he conducts his pre-match media duties.

Solanke's absence adds to an already lengthy injury list that has played a significant part in Spurs' recent struggles. First-choice centre-back duo Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven have been out of action for some time, and were recently joined on the sidelines by left-back Destiny Udogie.

Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario is also missing after fracturing a bone in his foot during Spurs' 4-0 win over Manchester City in November - a victory that feels an eternity ago for fans as the club languish in 15th place in the Premier League table.

Rodrigo Bentancur, Wilson Odobert and Timo Werner are three others who will play no part in the game on Merseyside, with Brennan Johnson and Yves Bissouma also carrying knocks.
