Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a surprise move for the Arsenal defender Myles Lewis-Skelly.
The talented young left-back has struggled for regular opportunities at Arsenal and needs to leave to play more often. Moving to another Premier League club could be ideal for him, but it remains to be seen whether he is prepared to join Tottenham because of his allegiance to Arsenal.
The player could cost around €70 million in the summer. According to a report from Spain, Roberto De Zerbi believe the 19-year-old will add quality and dynamism to his squad. The 19-year-old can operate as a left-back or a wing-back. He could contribute at both ends of the park.
Tottenham might be able to provide him with more opportunities compared to Arsenal, and it remains to be seen how the situation develops.
The young defender has impressed with Arsenal when given the chance, and he has done quite well for England in his limited opportunities as well.
He has a bright future ahead of himself, and he could develop into a quality player for Tottenham. However, they must secure safety in the Premier League first. They cannot attract elite young talents without the guarantee of Premier League football next season.
Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see if Arsenal is willing to sell one of their most talented young players to a direct rival. The decision might not go down well with the fans.
Also, the asking price is quite steep, and Tottenham might struggle to afford him. They need to improve multiple areas of the squad, and spending €70 million on a left back would be quite surprising.
