Forward has been injured long-term

Tottenham have been handed what looks to be a huge injury boost as Dejan Kulusevski was named in their Premier League squad.

The Swede has not played for the club since the Europa League final victory over Manchester United in May 2025, having struggled with a serious and persistent problem in his kneecap.

Now, however, the forward has been seen on the training pitch at Hotspur Way as he nears - slowly - a return to action.

Roberto De Zerbi has repeatedly said that caution will be taken over the winger, who did not feature at all last term under the three managers that Spurs appointed.

Thomas Frank and Igor Tudor were both shown the door by the north Londoners, who stayed in the Premier League on the final day of the campaign.

Kulusevski has been seen around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium during pre-season, but it is not thought that he will be making appearances for the club any time in the coming weeks.

More positive news for Spurs is that Mohammed Kudus is also in the squad, having made his comeback after a problematic thigh injury that had kept him on the sidelines since January.

The former West Ham man was introduced by De Zerbi off the bench in the 2-0 home defeat by Newcastle, and Spurs fans will be hoping that the Ghanaian can stay fit and bolster their options on the right flank after Mikey Moore joined FC Koln on loan.

There was, however, no place in the confirmed cohort for Richarlison, who De Zerbi has revealed wants to leave the club.

The Brazilian is not, as Standard Sport understands it, in Spurs’ plans for the campaign, and he has been told he can depart should a suitable offer come in for him.
