In a recent report, journalist Pete O’Rourke claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a move for Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger. It is believed that Spurs are showing interest in bringing the German centre-back to North London when he becomes a free agent this summer.
Rudiger has been sidelined for a lot of this campaign due to injury. However, he has done well to put in a few solid displays for them on the defensive end of the field. Rudiger has made just 11 appearances for Los Blancos this season in all competitions.
The 32-year-old can still be a consistent performer at the highest level if he can remain injury-free in the future. Thus, it makes sense for Spurs to consider going for a player of his experience this summer.
His current contract at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium will run out at the end of this campaign, which could open the door for Tottenham to sign him on a free transfer later this year.

Rudiger is a good tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to earn the ball back for his side inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when needed and is an accurate passer of the ball as well.
Standing at 1.90m, the German sensation can use his strong frame to win a few 50-50 aerial duels for his team and doesn’t mind putting his body on the line to make some last-ditch blocks. Rudiger has got a wealth of experience in the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Tottenham.
We can expect the Germany international to add more bite and steel to Spurs head coach Igor Tudor’s defence in the short term. He is good enough to challenge for regular first-team football at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the coming seasons.
At 32, Rudiger might still have a couple of seasons left in him to play at a high level. Therefore, Tudor should focus on going all out to lure him back to England when he becomes a free agent at the end of this season.
