In a recent report, Brazilian outlet RTI Esporte revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are in pole position to land Al-Hilal forward Marcos Leonardo. It has been mentioned that Spurs are ahead of Flamengo and Sao Paulo in the race to land the Brazilian striker this off-season.

Leonardo’s Impressive Rise In Saudi Football

The 22-year-old is having a decent campaign in Saudi football as he has put in a run of productive displays for them in the final third. Leonardo has scored 15 times and earned one assist in 29 matches for Al-Hilal this season across multiple competitions.

The talented attacker is currently among the best centre-forwards in the Saudi Pro League. Thus, it is no surprise that Spurs are trying to bring him on board this summer.

His current contract at Al-Hilal will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it difficult for Tottenham to sign him on the cheap later this year.

Will Leonardo Be A Good Signing For Tottenham Hotspur?

Leonardo excels at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the vision to create some inviting chances in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.

The Brazilian sensation has proven his worth as a consistent performer in the Saudi Pro League. Leonardo is primarily a centre-forward but can also play in the number ten position if required. However, the jury is still out on whether he can maintain his good form in the Premier League if Spurs manage to get a deal done for him this off-season.

We can expect Leonardo to enhance the quality of Tottenham‘s frontline. He is good enough to compete for a regular starting spot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the coming years.

At 22, the future looks quite bright for Leonardo as long as he continues to improve with each season. With all things considered, he would be a great signing for the North London club to pursue in the long run. Thus, Spurs would be wise to go all out to bring him to the English capital when the transfer reopens later this year.
