In a recent report, journalist Fraser Fletcher stated that Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on Anderlecht midfielder Nathan De Cat this summer. It has been mentioned that Spurs are in the running to secure the services of the Belgian youngster this off-season.

De Cat’s Impressive Rise In Belgian Football

The 17-year-old came through the youth ranks of Anderlecht and deserves credit for establishing himself as an important member of their first team. De Cat made 46 appearances for the Belgian club last season, scoring three times and picking up five assists in the process across all fronts.

The Belgian talent is currently among the most gifted young midfielders in the Jupiler Pro League. Therefore, it is no surprise that Spurs are showing interest in recruiting him later this year.

His current deal at Anderlecht will expire at the end of next season, which could make it difficult for Tottenham to sign De Cat in this transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur Are Keeping Tabs On De Cat: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

De Cat can do a little bit of everything at the centre of the park. He doesn’t mind putting in a good shift for his team defensively and can shoot the ball with power from long range.

The Belgian talent has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet. De Cat has also added a handful of goals and assists to his game. However, only time will tell whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of Premier League football if Spurs manage to sign him this summer.

We can expect De Cat to enhance the quality of Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi’s midfield in the long run. He has what it takes to serve as a good rotational piece in the North London club’s squad next season.

At 17, De Cat has got the ceiling to be a future star in English football. He is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the future, so De Zerbi would be wise to step up his efforts to land him before the end of this transfer window.
