In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on Torino defender Perr Schuurs. It has been mentioned that Spurs are eyeing a move to acquire the services of the Dutch centre-back next year.
Schuurs is having a solid campaign at the Italian club after he put in a string of impressive displays at the centre of their defence. The 23-year-old has featured in ten matches for Torino this season, finding the back of the net once in the process across all competitions.
The Dutch defensive ace has been a dominant presence on the defensive end of the pitch and has done well to average 2.2 tackles, 1.0 interceptions and 2.3 clearances per game in Serie A. He has even been tidy when distributing the ball from inside his half after completing 88.8% of his attempted passes in the Italian first division (stats via whoscored).
Schuurs is under contract at Torino until the summer of 2026. Hence, Spurs will have to make a convincing offer if they want to bring the Dutch talent to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this January or at the end of this campaign.

Schuurs is a solid tackler of the ball and can sense the danger quickly to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and is even proficient at playing his way out from the back.
We can expect Schuurs to enhance the quality of Tottenham boss Angelos Postecoglu’s first XI. He would serve as a good replacement for Micky van de Veen who is currently sidelined for a while due to a hamstring injury.
At 23, Schuurs will only improve as a footballer in the coming years which makes him a worthy target for the North London club to pursue next year. He would add more bite and steel to Postecoglu’s defence at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. However, there are some major concerns over whether he could be able to cope with the physicality and high intensity of Premier League football.
