In a recent report, The Independent claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are planning to move in for Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Carlos Baleba. It has been mentioned that Spurs have identified the Cameroonian midfield ace as a target for this summer transfer period.

Baleba’s Impressive Form In The Premier League

Baleba has managed to shine at times with his performances at the heart of Brighton’s midfield this season. The Cameroonian talent has made 35 appearances for the Seagulls in this campaign, but has failed to score or create a goal for them across all fronts.

The 22-year-old is currently one of the most gifted holding midfielders in the Premier League. Thus, it is no wonder that Tottenham are keen on bringing him to North London this off-season.

His current contract at the American Express Community Stadium will run out in the summer of 2028, which could make it difficult for Spurs to land him on the cheap in this upcoming transfer period.

Will Baleba Be A Dream Option For Tottenham Boss Roberto De Zerbi?

Baleba is a good tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to secure the ball back for his side inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when needed and is an accurate passer as well.

However, the Cameroonian sensation has to find a way to add more goals and assists to his game. Baleba is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also operate as a box-to-box midfielder if told to do so. He has got plenty of experience in the Premier League and won’t take much time to settle into life at Tottenham.

Baleba would add more bite and steel to Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi’s midfield department. He is good enough to nail down a regular first-team spot at the North London club in the coming seasons.

At 22, Baleba has got a bright future ahead of him and would be a great signing for Spurs to consider for the long run. He will also help Tottenham get back to challenging for a European spot in the Premier League in the future. Thus, he would be a dream option for De Zerbi to pursue in this summer transfer window.
