In a recent post on X, journalist Gary Ward claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are set to land Arsenal youngster Kryan Thompson this summer. It has been stated that Spurs are closing in on bringing the English prospect to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this off-season.

Thompson’s Impressive Rise In English Football

Thompson came through the youth ranks of West Ham United before joining Arsenal as a teenager in 2024. He has gone on to establish himself as an important member of the London club’s Under-18 team.

The 16-year-old has made 29 matches for Arsenal’s U-18 side so far, scoring three goals and grabbing a couple of assists on all fronts. Thompson is currently among the best young wingers in English football. Hence, it is no surprise that Tottenham are poised to land him this summer.

However, the talented teenager is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth in top-flight football. Still, Spurs would do well to get him on board in this transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur Are Set To Land Thompson: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Thompson is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with it out in the wide areas. He has got the vision to create some inviting chances for his teammates in the final third and can shoot the ball with power from long range.

The English talent has already contributed by scoring and creating a few important goals at the Under-18 level. However, he is still quite inexperienced at the highest level, so it remains to be seen whether he can prove his worth in senior football.

Thompson will enhance the quality of Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi’s attack in the long run. He is currently not good enough to fight for a place in Tottenham’s squad.

However, at 16, Thompson has the potential to be a future star in English football as long as he continues to improve with each season. He is a prospect to watch for in the long run, so Spurs should focus on getting a deal over the line for him before the end of this summer transfer period.
