In a recent report, journalists Dean Jones and Matt Smith revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are stepping up their pursuit of Club Brugge starlet Antonio Nusa. It has been stated that Spurs are eyeing a move for the Norwegian wide player after failing to sign him last January.

Nusa’s Decent Rise In Belgian Football

Nusa is having an impressive campaign at Club Brugge after putting in a string of eye-catching performances on the left side of their frontline. The 18-year-old has scored four times and picked up four assists in 31 matches for the Belgian outfit this season across multiple competitions.

The Langhus-born talent has been a decent performer in the final third as he is averaging 1.7 shots, 1.2 key passes and 2.5 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Jupiler Pro League. He has even been tidy with his ball distribution after making 81.3% of his attempted passes in the Belgian first division (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at the Belgian club will run out in the summer of 2027. Thus, it won’t be easy for Spurs to secure his services on the cheap in the upcoming transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur Are Stepping Up Their Pursuit Of Nusa: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Nusa is a good dribbler with the ball and can make some eye-catching runs with the ball out on the flanks. He has got the eye to play a few decisive passes in the attacking third of the pitch and can shoot the ball with power from long range.

The Norwegian starlet has got the potential to become a world-class player in his position someday. However, he is still quite raw and would need time to settle into life in English football if Spurs manage to get him on board in the summer.

Nusa is already good enough to serve as a useful presence in Tottenham boss Angelos Postecoglu’s squad. He would also serve as an ideal, long-term successor to Heung-min Son, who will turn 32 later this year, at the North London club.

At 28, Nusa has got the ceiling to be a success story at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the long run. However, Postecoglu needs to be patient with his progress before he can unlock the best out of the youngster.
