Tottenham Hotspur star Pape Matar Sarr emerging as a target for Al Ahli | OneFootball

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pape Matar Sarr is open to exploring a move away from the North London club, according to the Daily Mail.

Saudi Pro League club Al Ahli want the Spurs star, with the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club ready to allow the 23-year-old to leave if suitable offers arrive.

Brentford and Aston Villa, as well as other European sides, are also keeping tabs on Sarr, but a move to billionaire-owned Al Ahli could be more financially appealing.

The Public Investment Fund, owners of the Saudi Pro League club, are worth around £660 billion, and they are ready to offer him personal terms more than other suitors and Tottenham.

Sarr was an important player for the Lilywhites last season, but the arrivals of midfield duo Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali mean he is behind them in manager Roberto De Zerbi’s pecking order.

He could now follow Cristian Romero and Djed Spence out of Spurs, with the Argentine set to join Atletico Madrid, while the Englishman is off to Inter Milan.

The North Londoners are not playing in Europe next season, and Sarr could struggle for regular playing chances in the Premier League if he opts to stay beyond this summer.

Remaining in England could appeal to him due to sporting reasons, with Villa offering Champions League football.

However, it is unknown whether the Midlands club will make any concrete move for the Senegalese as they have other options on their radar.
