Tottenham’s Europa League semi-final second leg against Bodo/Glimt arrives not so much with momentum as it does with attrition. A commanding 3-1 lead from the first leg offers comfort, but the cost of that advantage has been the fitness of several key figures.

Postecoglou’s squad tonight is stripped of some of its defining voices and creative fulcrums. James Maddison (knee), Lucas Bergvall (ankle) and captain Heung-min Son (foot) are all absent—each one a player through whom Spurs’ tempo and transitions normally flow.

Add to that the absence of centre-back Radu Dragusin and three ineligible players in Sergio Reguilon, Timo Werner and Antonin Kinsky, and you get a sense of just how makeshift this XI may feel.
Yves Bissouma, previously drifting on the periphery of form, was quietly effective in the first leg and is expected to keep his place at the base of midfield.

Dejan Kulusevski’s versatility has made him Postecoglou’s reliable fixer—he’ll likely operate in the No.10 role vacated by Maddison. Rodrigo Bentancur adds poise and control.

Up front, Dominic Solanke’s return to training is timely, and he may be risked from the start alongside Brennan Johnson and Richarlison, who provided the lightning-quick assist for Johnson’s opener last week. Mathys Tel and Wilson Odobert offer impact from the bench.

Postecoglou’s approach has always leaned on cohesion more than superstardom, and tonight will test the depth of that philosophy.
