Tottenham Hotspur star Dejan Kulusevski is set for a spell on the sidelines due to a foot injury, according to the Daily Mail.

The Sweden international is currently undergoing tests to determine the severity of the issue.

However, the Tottenham playmaker will miss Thursday’s Europa League clash against AZ Alkmaar and the Premier League showdown with Bournemouth.

With an international break looming, there are growing concerns over whether Kulusevski will feature for Tottenham again before then.

Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou will provide further details on the injury in his press conference tomorrow, but losing one of his most influential players is a massive blow.

Kulusevski has been pivotal for Tottenham this season, bagging 10 goals and 10 assists in 42 appearances across all competitions.

Tottenham have been plagued by fitness issues all season, with several key players spending extended periods on the treatment table.

Centre-back duo Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven missed a chunk of the season and are still out even though they are closing in on a return to action.

The club is also dealing with injuries to Richarlison, Radu Dragusin, Ben Davies and Dominic Solanke, further testing their squad depth as they juggle domestic and European commitments.

When Postecoglou dropped Kulusevski for the Tottenham versus Manchester City game, there was an uproar, but the manager reassured the fans that he was overused and needed a break.

This season was a lesson. Tottenham need quality squad depth to challenge on multiple fronts.

Brennan Johnson will likely start for Spurs on the right flank with Kulusevski out, and James Maddison will cover for him in the number 10 or eight role.
