In a recent report, The Daily Mirror mentioned that Tottenham Hotspur have been urged to move in for Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo. It has been stated that Thomas Frank, who is set to become the new Spurs manager next week, has told the North London club to rival Manchester United in the race to land the Cameroonian wide player this summer.
Mbeumo had a decent campaign with the Bees after he put in a handful of promising displays on the right side of their attack. The Cameroon international played in 42 matches for Brentford last season, netting 20 goals and grabbing nine assists on all fronts.
The 25-year-old managed to catch the eye on the right flank as he averaged 2.08 shots per 90 minutes in Premier League football. He did well to keep 43% of his attempts on target. However, Mbeumo has to find a way to improve his ball distribution based on his pass completion rate of 66.1% in league football (stats via fbref.com).
Mbeumo is under contract at the English club until next summer. Thus, Spurs would be wise to try and sign him on a cut-price deal this off-season.

Mbeumo excels at finding some space for himself to get some strikes in on target. He can chip in by scoring his fair share of goals from the flanks. Mbeumo has got the eye to play a few decisive passes in the final third.
The Cameroonian sensation mainly operates as a right-winger but can also fill in as a centre-forward up top if needed. He already knows the Premier League well and won’t take much time to settle into life at the North London club.
We can expect Mbeumo to bring more firepower to Tottenham‘s attack. He is already good enough to help Spurs compete across all competitions over the next few years. Based on his form last season, the Cameroonian talent should have no problem nailing down a regular starting spot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
At 25, Mbeumo will only get better with each season. Therefore, he would be an excellent choice for the North London club to consider in this summer transfer window.
