Tottenham Hotspur welcome AFC Bournemouth to North London on Saturday, with Thomas Frank’s side aiming to continue their perfect start to the season.

After an opening-day win over Burnley and a statement victory at Manchester City, Spurs are one of only three teams with maximum points. They face a Bournemouth side who responded to a defeat at Liverpool with a league win over Wolves, but were knocked out of the Carabao Cup in midweek.

Spurs’ early success has been built on a newfound defensive solidity; having kept just two clean sheets in their final 22 games last term, they have started this campaign with back-to-back shutouts.

However, they face a Bournemouth side who have a strong recent record against them, earning more points in their last six meetings with Spurs than in their previous ten combined.

Team News

Tottenham Hotspur

Thomas Frank has a settled side and is expected to name an unchanged lineup for the third consecutive game. A lengthy injury list includes Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison, and Radu Drăgușin. Forwards Richarlison and Brennan Johnson will be looking to make history as they could become the first Spurs players to score or assist in each of the opening three games of a season.

Bournemouth

Andoni Iraola’s main issue is at right-back, where Julian Araujo is suspended after being sent off in the midweek cup defeat to Brentford. Veteran Adam Smith is set to replace him. Enes Ünal and Lewis Cook remain sidelined with knee injuries until after the international break. Iraola is expected to recall his first-choice attackers after rotating his squad for the cup tie.

Form

Tottenham Hotspur

It has been a perfect start for Thomas Frank, whose pragmatic and flexible approach has guided Spurs to maximum points from their opening two games, including a superb 2-0 win away at champions Manchester City. Their back-to-back clean sheets mark a dramatic defensive improvement from last season.

Bournemouth

Bournemouth’s league form has been solid. They showed plenty of fight in defeat at Liverpool before a battling 1-0 win over Wolves. However, a lack of clinical finishing cost them in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, as they were beaten 2-0 by Brentford. The Cherries do boast an impressive unbeaten run of six away matches in London.

Predicted Lineups

Tottenham Hotspur predicted XI: Vicario; Porro, Romero, van de Ven, Spence; Bentancur, Palhinha; Kudus, Sarr, Johnson; Richarlison.

Bournemouth predicted XI: Petrovic; Smith, Diakité, Senesi, Truffert; Scott, Adams; Semenyo, Tavernier, Brooks; Evanilson.
