Tottenham Hotspur host title-chasers Manchester City on Sunday while they seek to secure their first Premier League victory of 2026.
The side has moved into a difficult period domestically, failing to win any of their last five top-flight matches (D3 L2). Manager Thomas Frank will be desperate for a response against the high-flying visitors, especially as he currently holds the lowest home points-per-game record (0.82) of any Spurs boss in Premier League history.
While success in the Champions League has provided a distraction, Tottenham must focus on reclaiming their domestic form to protect their eight-point gap from the relegation zone. A victory today would mark their tenth Premier League double over City.
Thomas Frank manages a squad that is slowly welcoming back its primary attacking hub. Notably, Dominic Solanke is fit to start his first Premier League game in six months after scoring as a substitute in the midweek European win. However, a late decision will be made on Micky van de Ven, who is considered “touch and go” after missing the trip to Germany. Consequently, the manager will rely on the returning Yves Bissouma and Conor Gallagher to provide the energy needed to disrupt the visitors.
Guglielmo Vicario will start in goal behind a defensive line that may feature Djed Spence and Destiny Udogie out wide. In midfield, Joao Palhinha is expected to anchor the side alongside Gallagher. Xavi Simons and Wilson Odobert will provide the creative spark behind Solanke, while Mathys Tel is pushing for a start on the wing. The squad remains without a “host” of senior talent, including James Maddison, Pedro Porro, and Mohammed Kudus, placing extra responsibility on the club’s younger core.
Tottenham predicted XI: Vicario; Spence, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Palhinha, Gallagher; Odobert, Simons, Tel; Solanke
