Tottenham Hotspur want to sign West Ham United forward Mohammed Kudus this summer, according to the Telegraph.

The 24-year-old Hammers star is open to leaving the London Stadium club for the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club, and Spurs believe they can sign for well below his £85 million release clause – set to be active for the first 10 days of July.

Scott Parker was the last player to join the North Londoners directly from West Ham back in 2011, but Spurs are now ready to end their unofficial transfer embargo with the Hammers.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy blocked Emmanuel Adebayor from joining West Ham in 2015, and both clubs have not done business with each other for 14 years.

The Hammers are willing to sell the former Ajax star to raise funds for the summer transfer window, but they are unlikely to get £85m from suitors for his services.

Tottenham have been linked with the likes of Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo, Bournemouth attacker Antoine Semenyo and Crystal Palace forward Eberechi Eze so far this summer, but a move for the West Ham star is currently their most likely signing.

New Spurs head coach Thomas Frank wants to strengthen his attacking options with captain Son Heung-min likely to be sold and he believes Kudus fits the bill.

The African star ended last season with just five goals and four assists in 35 appearances, but he bagged 18 goals and ten assists in 48 games in his debut campaign in the Premier League and could rediscover his form at Tottenham.

He also brings Champions League experience to the table having featured in the elite European competition while in the Eredivisie, and his ability to play on both wings, as a striker and as a number 10 has also made him an attractive option for Spurs.
