Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson before the end of the winter transfer window, according to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein.
Spurs manager Thomas Frank wants to strengthen at the back, and a move to bring the Scotland international to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is on the cards.
Amicable negotiations between all parties are advancing, and Robertson could be on his way to London in the coming days.
The 31-year-old is out of contract in the summer and is currently behind Milos Kerkez in the pecking order at the Anfield club.
The Reds could look to recall Kostas Tsimikas from his loan spell with AS Roma, while Joe Gomez can also play as a left-back.
Tottenham had planned to go for Robertson at the end of the season and sign him as a free agent, but Frank is desperate to strengthen his ranks this month after several injury woes.
Adding Robertson to his defence will be huge for the Spurs boss, given the experience and quality he brings to the table.
Ben Davies has filled in at left-back in recent weeks for Tottenham, but he is set to undergo surgery on an ankle fracture.
Destiny Udogie has been Spurs’ first-choice left-back since his arrival, but injuries have limited him to just ten Premier League games this term.
Frank has played Djed Spence as a left-back at times, while midfielder Archie Gray and centre-back Micky van de Ven have also had to be played there.
Signing Robertson could be huge for Spurs, and more quality additions will come in handy this month as they look to secure European football next season.
