Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly in advanced talks to sign Liverpool’s Andy Robertson.
The 32-year-old confirmed last week he will leave the club at the end of the season. His contract at Anfield expires in June, and the Reds will not offer him a new deal.
Tottenham have a long-term interest in Robertson. They came close to signing him in the winter transfer window when they agreed a deal in principle with Liverpool.
However, the Reds pulled the plug on the move after they were unable to recall Kostas Tsimikas from his loan at Roma.
According to BBC Sport, Spurs remain committed to signing the experienced left-back on a free transfer this summer.
While a full agreement is yet to be reached, negotiations between the two parties are at an advanced stage.
However, any deal will be contingent on Tottenham staying in the Premier League.
The Lilywhites currently sit 18th in the league standings, two points behind 17th-placed West Ham United.
Robertson has been a faithful servant for Liverpool over the last nine years.
He has made 374 appearances across all competitions, helping them win two Premier League titles and a Champions League.
Robertson has been struggling for opportunities this season, with summer signing Milos Kerkez ahead of him in the pecking order.
He has featured 20 times in the Premier League, with 13 coming off the bench.
