Spurs sweating on fitness of key players ahead of some big games
Tottenham suffered yet another injury blow as Destiny Udogie was forced off midway through Saturday’s defeat by Manchester United.
Another bad result leaves Spurs with just one win in their last nine Premier League games, with the mood compounded as yet another defensive injury rocked the squad.
Udogie, who only recently returned from a hamstring injury, lasted just 55 minutes at Old Trafford before going down to receive treatment and being withdrawn.
It was not all bad news on the fitness front at Old Trafford, though, as Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romeo made returns to the starting line-up and Dominic Solanke continued his run of fitness. Romero will now miss four matches after being sent off, though.
Udogie’s latest absence is far from ideal for Thomas Frank ahead Tuesday’s visit of Newcastle and, crucially, with the north London derby against Arsenal on the horizon.
With that in mind, here’s all the latest tottenham">Tottenham injury news and potential return dates...

Another setback: Destiny Udogie leaves Old Trafford injured

Destiny Udogie only recently returned from a hamstring injury, enjoying a run of three starts in four between late January and early February, but now seems set for more time on the sidelines.
He lasted less than an hour after starting at Old Trafford and went straight down the tunnel after coming off.
The nature of his injury was not immediately clear and Frank said he would be assessed this week.
Frank said at full-time: “We will assess him tomorrow. So, of course, I will probably see you guys [the media) in, what, two days' time or less, and then we'll know more. We'll assess him tomorrow.”
Frank will be expected to provide an update ahead of the Newcastle match.
Potential return date: Unknown
Djed Spence missed the Manchester City game with a calf injury described by Frank as minor, but he did not return in time to face Manchester United as hoped.
The injury comes at an unfortunate time following an injury to Pedro Porro, leaving Spurs short of full-backs.
“Djed Spence is getting closer,” said Frank last week. “[The United match] will be a little bit touch and go, but there is a good chance that he will be ready."
Frank suggested post-match, though, that he will have no returnees for the trip to Newcastle, meaning a comeback for the north London derby could be on the cards.

Pedro Porro was struck down with an injury as Tottenham drew with Burnley last month, lasting just 45 minutes of the match before coming off.
Frank initially said he was looking to manage his workload, but has since revealed the Spaniard has suffered a hamstring injury.
Speaking in late January, he said the defender would be sidelined for a matter of weeks.
"Pedro hasn't travelled [to face Eintracht Frankfurt on January 28], unfortunately he’s picked up a hamstring injury, so he’ll be out for four weeks."
Porro will hope to return for the north London derby, if not for the subsequent trip to Fulham.

Kevin Danso suffered a bizarre injury as Spurs beat Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League in January.
The defender has suffered ligament damage after hyperextending his toe in a tackle.
Speaking ahead of facing Manchester United, Frank said he hoped Danso could be back in the fold soon, adding that he would have more clarity over a return date this week.
“Very unlucky,” said the Dane of Danso. “I think every single time he’s been called upon this season, he’s delivered for the team.
“It is fantastic to work with him in every aspect.
“We’ll probably know a little but more this week in terms of how long. Hopefully, it will not be too long.”
Potential return date: Unknown
Richarlison’s latest injury saw him pull up with a hamstring problem as Spurs were knocked out of the FA Cup by Aston Villa in January.
He is not expected to return until early March.
"Richy unfortunately got a hamstring injury that will keep him out for up to seven weeks,” Frank revealed last month.
Potential return date: March

Lucas Bergvall has endured several injury lay-offs this season, but his latest is among his worst.
He suffered a high ankle sprain as Spurs beat Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, with the recovery period confirmed by Frank to be as high as three months.
Such a timeframe could see him laid off for around 14 matches.
Potential return date: April
Rodrigo Bentancur is among the several Spurs players ruled out with a hamstring injury, though his required surgery.
The Uruguay international went under the knife in January, with Spurs confirming the procedure was successful.
He had previously been a mainstay for Frank, but will now be sidelined into the season’s late stages.
Potential return date: April
Summer signing Mohammed Kudus made a right start to life in north London but now finds himself in the midst of a lengthy injury layoff.
He picked up a serious thigh injury in a 1-1 draw with Sunderland on January 4.
Speaking last month, Frank said: “Mohammed, unfortunately, is a bigger one to the tendon in the quad. That is one where we expect him back after the March international break.”
That timeline could see the Ghanian return from injury in time for the reverse fixture against the Black Cats at the Stadium of Light.

Adding to Tottenham’s defensive injury headaches is the absence of Ben Davies.
The Welshman was stretchered off barely 20 minutes into Spurs’ defeat by West Ham after he broke his ankle.
He later underwent surgery, though Frank is yet to reveal a concrete return timeline.
Davies, who faces a race against time to make a comeback this campaign, has made just four Tottenham appearances this season.
Potential return date: Unknown

The curious case of Dejan Kulusevski’s knee injury continues.
The Swedish winger underwent surgery on his patella late last season, and is yet to appear in this campaign as he continues his recovery.
Frank has described his injury as ‘complicated’.
He said: “If there is one person who can accelerate that [recovery], it is Dejan. The most important thing is to remove the pain in the knee. He had an injection to help that ten days ago.
“We will know in 3-4 weeks if that has settled. And when it has settled, hopefully, he will be on the grass and from there, we will see what is happening.”
He was not named to Spurs’ squad for the Champions League knock-out stages, suggesting a return is not close.
Potential return date: Unknown
James Maddison is set to miss most, if not all, of this campaign after rupturing his ACL in a pre-season friendly against Newcastle.
He has since undergone surgery, but a return to play does not appear to be imminent.
Potential return date: Summer 2026
