Tottenham Hotspur have made an enquiry about Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier (24), as per a report from L’Équipe.
Chevalier only joined PSG from formative club Lille OSC. However, brought in to succeed Gianluigi Donnarumma and be the No.1, he has struggled. In the autumn, a string of mistakes saw his place as the starter come under threat, and by the turn of the year, it was Matvey Safonov who definitively stole the No.1 jersey.
His last appearance in the UEFA Champions League came in a Group Stage game against Sporting CP (20/01/26), whilst his last league appearance came on 23rd January. The Frenchman does not wish to remain second-choice next season and so a departure is a possibility.
Besiktas have just made an enquiry for Chevalier, L’Équipe understands. However, he is prioritising a “more seductive” project than the one offered in Turkey. The publication adds that Tottenham Hotspur also made an enquiry a few weeks back.
