Joao Palhinha salvaged a point for Tottenham but it was still a disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Wolves.

The visitors arrived in north London without a point to their name in the Premier League this season, but Santiago Bueno’s second-half goal put them in front and seemingly on course for a shock victory.

Spurs were poor in response and there was little sign of an equaliser until Joao Palhinha finished brilliantly for Thomas Frank’s side in the third minute of stoppage time.

Standard Sport rates the Spurs players after another frustrating match against Wolves...

Guglielmo Vicario 5

Unlucky for the goal as Wolves scored from a scramble after he made a decent save, but poor with his feet and it added to an edgy atmosphere.

Djed Spence 6

Rare start at right-back and understandably didn’t have the same connection with Mohammed Kudus as Pedro Porro does. Confident enough in defensive work.

Cristian Romero 6

Tried to lead by example by throwing himself into firm challenges and charging up the pitch to press. Left Spurs exposed at the back when they conceded the corner for the goal.

Micky van de Ven 7

Mopped up as ever when Wolves threatened to break and was a calmer head as all around him seemed to fall apart.

Destiny Udogie 5

Powerful bursts forward, particularly in the first half, but his final ball was not good enough. Wastes too many promising situations.

Joao Palhinha 6

Tired showing in midfield, particularly in the second half when not quite getting to interceptions as he normally would. Great finish to earn Spurs a point.

Rodrigo Bentancur 6

Questionable selection to start him alongside Bentancur in a game like this. Tidy on the ball but passing felt fairly safe and replaced after an hour.

Mohammed Kudus 7

Superb first-half display, with one goal ruled out for offside and a header tipped onto the bar. Relentless driving at his man. Not as effective in the second period, along with everyone else around him.

Lucas Bergvall 6

Energetic runs in behind in first half and linked up really well with Kudus. Faded after the break and unable to produce his usual drive from midfield.

Weak on the ball, several poor touches and booked for a late challenge. Struggling Spurs side needed him to step up but he offered next to nothing.

Anonymous up front. Looked leggy and could not catch up with a dangerous Kudus cross in the first half. Injuries to Dominic Solanke and Randal Kolo Muani are really starting to hurt.

Substitutes:

Brennan Johnson (Bentancur 63’) 5

Got half an hour on his preferred right wing but barely had a touch beyond one decent cross.

Pedro Porro (Spence 63’) 5

Frank completely changed the right wing on the half hour mark - it had no impact.

Wilson Odobert (Simons 78’) 5

No real conviction when he ran with the ball. Poor crossing.

Pape Matar Sarr (Bergvall 78’) 6

Cushioned the ball for Palhinha to fire in last-gasp equaliser.

Mathys Tel (Udogie 84’) N/A
