Tottenham Hotspur remain interested in signing Cody Gakpo from Liverpool.
The Netherlands International has been linked with an exit this summer, and the North London club is looking to sign him.
The 27-year-old will add goals and creativity in the final third. He can operate centrally as well as in the wide areas. Tottenham need a dynamic attacker like him. Gakpo did well in the World Cup for the Netherlands, scoring thrice in four matches.
Alfredo Pedulla has now confirmed that Tottenham are set to present a new offer to Liverpool soon. It remains to be seen whether Liverpool is prepared to accept the offer.
They need more depth in the attacking unit, and it is highly unlikely that they will sell the Netherlands International without signing a quality replacement first. They are yet to replace Mohamed Salah, who left the club at the end of last season. They have not been able to replace Luis Diaz, who left last summer.
Even though Gakpo is not one of the first names on the team sheet for Liverpool, he is still a very handy option for them in the attack. Liverpool will need to bring quality players before sanctioning his departure.
On the other hand, the player is reportedly open to joining Tottenham, and he will sort out his future quickly. Spurs could offer him a regular starting role, and he could be an important player for them. They need more goals in the final third, and the 27-year-old Liverpool attacker is well suited for them. He is a versatile player who can slot in anywhere across the front three and make a defining impact in the final third.
