Tottenham Hotspur star Cristian Romero has set his sights firmly on a move to Spain with Barcelona this summer.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have this week provided an update on the future of the all-action defender.

Romero is for his part of course currently busy playing his part in Argentina’s bid to retain their crown at the World Cup. Across the tournament to date, the 28-year-old has reminded any who may have forgotten of his unquestionable talents when fully focused and motivated.

Similar exploits are highly unlikely to be on display in the colours of the aforementioned Tottenham next season, however, after Romero made clear to the London-based club his desire to move on this summer.

A whole host of clubs, in turn, are understood to be sniffing around the former Juventus man’s signature. Amongst them are the likes of Inter Milan, and Atlético Madrid.

As per a report from the aforementioned Sport, however:

‘It is a difficult operation, but the centre-back would clearly prioritise playing for Barça.’

Though the Camp Nou brass do not consider the signing of a new central defender a priority at present, an addition in the position has not been ruled out under the right conditions.
