Italian journalist Gianni Visnadi believes Tottenham Hotspur shot-stopper Guglielmo Vicario represents the ‘stronger’ option for Juventus than Zion Suzuki.

Vicario has found his long-term future in north London shrouded in uncertainty for several months after his displays came under increasing scrutiny.

With Roberto De Zerbi favouring Antonin Kinsky between the posts and Martin Dubravka added to the goalkeeping ranks earlier this summer, Spurs are open to sanctioning Vicario’s departure.

Juventus, who have explored a number of goalkeeping options throughout the window in their search for a new number one, have kept Vicario firmly on their radar since June.

The Old Lady initially identified Emiliano Martinez as their preferred candidate, but Aston Villa‘s uncompromising demands brought that pursuit to a standstill.

Suzuki, who was also chased by Aston Villa and Leeds United earlier in the window, remains under consideration for the Bianconeri.

The Japanese international could, however, be destined for Paris Saint-Germain, with the French giants currently leading the race for his signature.

Even if PSG complete a move for Suzuki, the goalkeeper could still return to Serie A, with the possibility of a loan switch to Juventus having already emerged.

Whether that scenario ultimately materialises is yet to become clear, while Vicario continues to represent another prominent option.

Visnadi acknowledged Suzuki’s performances for Parma had left a positive impression on him, but insisted Vicario stands above the Japanese international in terms of overall goalkeeping ability.

He also maintained that the level of interest in Suzuki reflects the technical qualities he possesses.

Visnadi said on Radio Sportiva (via Italian outlet Tutto Juve): “Suzuki to Juve?

“The goalkeeper is interesting Paris Saint-Germain, as well as the Bianconeri.

“He seemed like a good goalkeeper to me at Parma, but Vicario seems stronger.

“The interest we’ve seen, however, is based on technical evidence that carries weight.”

Vicario was also lauded by a former scout last month for his pedigree while also drawing praise for his character.

The Italian will now hope the Old Lady intensify their interest in the coming weeks, with his long-term prospects in north London otherwise appearing increasingly uncertain.
