Tottenham's next full chapter under Roberto De Zerbi begins in earnest this evening against fellow London outfit Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.
With Spurs fans anticipating improvement in 2026/27 on the back of a previous campaign that saw them seriously flirt with relegation, there's a new feel about the place thus far under the Italian tactician.Â
And there has already been a massive call from him to start the season in the vein of club startlet Archie Gray.
Gray (20), who starts today at right-back, has also been handed the armband to open the new season, making him the youngest player to ever captain the club in a competitive fixture.
De Zerbi's big decision comes on the back of a new look and feel in their section of North London, fortified by summer deals for Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Jan Paul van Hecke, Marcos Senesi, and Andrew Robertson.
The fact that Gray has been chosen to lead from the front to usher in a hopeful new era for Tottenham speaks volumes, and could well be a key highlight should the club kick on this season.
