Tottenham Hotspur are weighing up an approach for Brentford forward Yoane Wissa.
Thomas Frank is interested in a deal to reunite with the 28-year-old following his appointment from Brentford earlier this summer.
Wissa scored 19 goals in 35 league appearances for Brentford last season in a career-best campaign. His 19 non-penalty goals were equal to Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, with only Golden Boot winner Mohamed Salah (20) netting more in the Premier League last season.
The DR Congo international is understood to be open to the move to North London, with the BBC reporting that Spurs are weighing up the finances of a deal. Frank is keen to add another striker to his options with Richarlison linked with an exit.
However, Brentford are reluctant to lose Wissa in a window of upheaval. In addition to Frank’s exit to take charge at Tottenham, the Bees have also agreed to the sale of Christian Norgaard to Arsenal.
Meanwhile, Manchester United have submitted two offers for Bryan Mbeumo with negotiations ongoing. Losing Mbeumo and Wissa in the same window would be a huge blow, with the duo combining for 39 league goals last season, 59% of the club’s league total.
