Solanke appeared to tease a return for Spurs on social media earlier on Friday, posting an image of himself playing football with the caption of two hourglasses.

But, speaking later in the day, Frank was keen to allay any excitement in the fanbase.

The Spurs head coach said of his striker: "When he is training fully with the team, that is when I will say something ... he is training by himself [on the grass]."

He added: "I guess it is good news when he posts that. As I said, with Dom, because it is an injury that he picked up in July, it’s dragged on for a while.

“When he is training fully, I’ll have news, I am happy to answer all these questions, but just a little bored of them."

Brennan Johnson is available for selection ahead of Tottenham’s game against Nottingham Forest, despite suffering a “minor” issue during training in the week.

Johnson missed Spurs’ 3-0 win over Slavia Prague on Tuesday with an undisclosed issue, but has returned to fitness ahead of Sunday’s trip to the City Ground after training on Friday.

The Welshman’s return comes as a welcome boost to Frank, who remains without Destiny Udogie, Dejan Kulusevski, Solanke and James Maddison.

Udogie suffered a hamstring injury against Newcastle last week and is expected to be out until the new year.

Kulusevski, Solanke and Maddison, meanwhile, have played just 49 minutes between them this season.

“Everyone that was available for Slavia will be available for Forest,” Frank confirmed on Friday.

Yves Bissouma is still suspended pending an internal investigation after footage emerged of the midfielder reportedly inhaling nitrous oxide.

The 29-year-old apologised for the same offence in 2023, stating that he had displayed a "severe lack of judgement" and his Tottenham future has now been cast into major doubt.

Tottenham are looking to make it three wins in a row in all competitions for the first time this season with a win over lowly Nottingham Forest.

Sean Dyche’s side sit just two points outside the relegation zone, but have looked much improved under the Englishman, and Frank admits there is still plenty for Spurs to improve as they look for successive league wins for the first time since October.
