Tottenham vs Aston Villa LIVE!
Aston Villa came from behind to sink Tottenham on Sunday despite the hosts making a perfect start to the occasion. Rodrigo Bentancur fired home from close range with just five minutes played to capitalise on a spell of early pressure, leaving Spurs in the driver’s seat from the off.
They failed to capitalise on that fast start, though. Morgan Rogers fired home from the edge of the box shortly before half-time to equalise, confounding Guglielmo Vicario with a dipping shot, before Emiliano Buendia lashed a second-half winner into the bottom corner to finish off a sweet team move. Unai Emery will be thrilled with the comeback, but Thomas Frank will be left with some tricky questions to answer, particularly after Cristian Romero was dropped from the starting XI having sustained an injury in warm-ups.
Much was made of Randal Kolo Muani’s return to the matchday squad, too, but he struggled after entering the fray late on. A chance for a winner fell to him in the box, but he missed his chance to mark his Premier League debut with a goal, swinging and missing rather spectacularly.
