Tottenham Hotspur conclude their difficult Premier League campaign at home to Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday 25th May at 4pm.
Ange Postecoglou will hope to welcome the Seagulls to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium safe in the knowledge his side will be playing Champions League football next season, via victory in the Europa League.
Mid-table Brighton, meanwhile, will be looking to do what they can to ensure their own European dream for next season is fulfilled.
The last four meetings between the teams have been intriguing encounters, bringing a total of 17 goals with both finding the net on each occasion. With each side looking to finish the campaign with a flourish, we can expect more of the same here.
Dominic Solanke played a key role during their run to the Europa League final, scoring in three successive games. The Tottenham striker will now look to build on that momentum by finding the net on the final day of the Premier League season.
At the time of writing, Tottenham’s primary focus will be on their Europa League final showdown with Manchester United on 21st May.
Regardless of the result, that run has provided a welcome distraction from their dismal Premier League form, which has seen them win just one of their last 10 games. That sole victory was against rock-bottom Southampton.
Meanwhile, a run of two wins and a draw from three games have boosted Brighton’s European ambitions, though they will require favours from elsewhere in order to secure a return to the continent.
Dejan Kulusevski should be available for Tottenham after a knee injury. However, James Maddison and Lucas Bergvall were recently ruled out for the remainder of the season, joining Radu Dragusin on the long-term absentee list.
Joao Pedro is available again after suspension, while Lewis Dunk and Joel Veltman should be fit after knocks. Georginio Rutter and James Milner may also be in contention for the Seagulls, but Solly March and Ferdi Kadioglu are unavailable.
The home side has prevailed in each of the four most recent meetings between the sides.
