Tottenham cruised into the third round of the Carabao Cup after a 5-1 victory over Charlton Athletic on Wednesday night.

Roberto De Zerbi’s men brushed off the weekend’s chastising defeat to Brentford with a dominant performance against the Championship club to book their place in the next round of the league cup.

Mikey Moore’s strike found the back of the net to break the deadlock and less than four minutes later Dominic Solanke hooked in the second.

Kevin Danso came off the bench to nod in a third goal with his first touch before Tottenham’s new signing, Savio, made his debut and collected a goal and an assist to cap off an impressive night for De Zerbi and his men.

Lloyd Jones headed in a consolation goal for Charlton but they head out of the cup and can focus on their league campaign.
