Spurs are set to bolster their attack

Spurs welcome the Magpies to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, August 29, for their first home league game of the new season and will be looking to bounce back from the 3-0 loss to Brentford.

Roberto De Zerbi’s hopes of an immediate reaction from his side are set to be boosted by the availability of two new signings.

Fabrizio Romano has since reported that Tottenham have now reached a verbal agreement with Man City to sign Omar Marmoush on loan, which includes a mandatory purchase option for £50m.

With Marmoush set to undergo a medical on Monday, it means Spurs must register the Egypt international - and Savinho - by 12pm BST on Friday to have them available for selection against Newcastle.

Tottenham's summer spending will reach the £300m mark once Savinho’s move is finalised, and De Zerbi insists the club are not finished yet in the transfer market.

“It is not right to speak about players until they are official,” De Zerbi said in response to a question about Savinho before the Brentford game.

“Just to say, I am very happy. We have not finished yet in the transfer market. It is an important part.

"You don’t win the game with big-name players, we have to deserve to win games

“So far, we have had a great [summer for] signings. Great players and personalities. But you don’t win the game with big-name players. We have to deserve to win games.”
