Tottenham are navigating another managerial crossroads, with The Sun suggesting the club are exploring a short-term appointment before potentially moving to rehire former boss Mauricio Pochettino after the upcoming World Cup.

Pochettino, currently leading the United States men’s national soccer team, remains a highly respected figure in North London.

During his five-year spell at Tottenham between 2014 and 2019, he transformed the club into consistent top-four contenders and guided them to the 2019 UEFA Champions League final.

His tenure is still viewed by many within the club as one of the most progressive eras in Spurs’ modern history.

Tottenham identify Pochettino as top target

Tottenham’s interest in Pochettino is not merely sentimental. Sources indicate that key figures within the hierarchy believe his tactical identity, emphasis on youth development, and understanding of the club’s culture could restore long-term stability.

However, with Pochettino committed to the U.S. national team through the summer tournament, any return would likely have to wait.

This timing has prompted Tottenham to consider an interim solution, a manager capable of steadying the team in the short term while a more permanent plan is shaped.
