Tottenham’s Mikey Moore one step away from 1. FC Köln loan | OneFootball

Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reports that 1. FC Köln have reached a full agreement with Tottenham Hotspur attacking talent Mikey Moore over a loan move to the Bundesliga. The 18-year-old remains set to join Köln on a season-long loan without an option to buy. Tottenham continue to regard Moore as an important part of their long-term plans and have no intention of permanently relinquishing control of the England youth international.

The latest development comes after some uncertainty surrounding the transfer. Tottenham temporarily placed Moore’s proposed move to Köln on hold and kept the youngster available for their pre-season friendly against Getafe. A move to the cathedral city nevertheless remains firmly on course. All that remains is for Spurs head coach Roberto de Zerbi to give the green light.

Borussia Dortmund continue pushing to sign Köln’s 19-year-old attacking star, though die Geißböcke have thus far resisted BVB’s substantial offers. Moore’s arrival would provide Köln with another highly-rated attacking option regardless of how the El Mala saga concludes.

Tottenham’s reluctance to include any purchase option nevertheless makes the purpose of the move clear. Köln would receive another talented young attacker for the coming Bundesliga campaign, while Spurs hope regular top-flight football in Germany will further accelerate Moore’s development.
