“The Friedkins are thinking about it; he could be really useful, because he’s part of Roma,” with these words Claudio Ranieri announced the negotiations between the Texans and Francesco Totti for a return to the club.
After attending Roma vs. Stuttgart, the former number 10 was also in the stands yesterday for the match against Cagliari.
Talks about his return to the club are well underway.
According to Matteo De Santis of La Stampa, a financial agreement is close, with a basis for agreement reached and the final details still to be ironed out. However, there are still doubts regarding the former captain’s role.
Under James Pallotta, Totti had previously served as a director for Roma, but his relationship with his former club had deteriorated due to his superficial and unimportant role.
He reportedly wants to play a decisive role in the club’s future. The most likely option for a quick marriage is a role à la Javier Zanetti, who at Inter is the club’s vice president. The feeling is that the Friedkins want to please him and speed up the process of his return.
