Toulouse have confirmed that midfielders Branco van den Boomen and Stijn Spierings will leave the club at the end of the season, following the expiry of their contracts. The two highly-rated Dutchmen will be available for other clubs to sign on free transfers this summer.
Van den Boomen and Spierings have both had sensational seasons in France. Having won Ligue 2 last season, Toulouse are currently 13th in the French top flight. Just last month, the pair lifted the Coupe de France after thrashing Nantes 5-1 in the final.
Stijn Spierings, who previously played for Waalwijk and Sparta Rotterdam, has featured 41 times for Toulouse this season, operating as a defensive midfielder. The 27-year-old has recently been on PSV Eindhoven’s radar. Branco van den Boomen has scored six times and provided 13 assists in 38 appearances for Toulouse this season. The 27-year-old central midfielder racked up a combined total of 33 goals and assists in Ligue 2 last season. Both PSV and Antwerp have recently shown interest in the former De Graafschap player.
