Toulouse open talks with Jens Berthel Askou over head coach role

Toulouse have opened negotiations with Jens Berthel Askou as they search for a successor to Carles Martinez Novell.

Scottish Herald reports that the Motherwell manager is their priority. The club aim to finalise the appointment before the transfer window opens as they shape a new sporting project after the 2023-2026 Carles Martinez Novell era.

In his first season in Scotland, the 43-year-old Dane, formerly an assistant at Sparta Prague and FC Copenhagen, guided Motherwell to fourth place while promoting an attractive style of play.

That progress has also drawn interest from Celtic.

Askou did not respond to requests for comment.
