According to L'Équipe, Toulouse and Lens headline the Ligue 1 matchday 16 team of the week. They won 3-0 at Paris FC and 2-0 against Nice.
Toulouse are eighth, four points off Europe, and posted the round’s best average rating at 6.3, with three selections. Yann Gboho scored twice at Jean-Bouin and features on the left. Djibril Sidibé delivered two assists and fills the wing-back berth in a 3-4-3.
Charlie Cresswell anchors the back three, joined by Monaco’s Thilo Kehrer, the only defeated pick this weekend after a 0-1 loss at Marseille, and Malang Sarr. Odsonne Édouard, scorer of two headers for the Ligue 1 leaders, is also included.
Toulouse and Lens meet after the break on 2 January, the first match of 2026, and, along with Lyon, are the only clubs with multiple picks. Lyon’s 1-0 win over Le Havre owed much to goalkeeper Dominik Greif, who saved Issa Soumaré’s penalty, and to Afonso Moreira, provider of an assist and deployed at left wing-back for this XI.
The XI is rounded out by three scorers. Lille midfielder Benjamin André hit an 86th-minute winner at Auxerre, 4-3, and Marseille forward Mason Greenwood settled it on 82 minutes against Monaco, 1-0. Angers midfielder Himad Abdelli opened the scoring versus Nantes on 17 minutes, 4-1, and coach Alexandre Dujeux takes charge, with Angers 10th and 10 points clear of play-off side Auxerre.
