Toulouse FC winger Aron Donnum (27) has avoided a lengthy ban for his gesture towards Le Havre AC’s Simon Ebonog at the start of this month.

The former was seen waving his hand in front of his nose, directly looking at his Cameroonian opponent. The referee booked Ebonog, but not Donnum, over the incident. Speaking post-match, Le Havre manager Didier Digard stated that he believed that the gesture was of a racist nature. In the wake of the incident, the LFP confirmed that they were investigating the TFC player’s behaviour” during that game.

Donnum’s gesture deemed ‘offensive’ by the LFP

Had the gesture been deemed to be of a discriminatory nature, Donnum could have faced a 10-game ban. However, it could not be proven that his gesture was discriminatory, although the authorities did deem it to be “offensive”. As a result, he has received a two-game ban, as confirmed by the LFP on Wednesday.
