Het Nieuwsblad are reporting that Trabzonspor are interesting in signing Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare from Genk. The Belgian side are willing to listen to offers for the striker and will be willing to sell if their valuation is met. Arokodare was brought in as the replacement for Paul Onuachu when the fellow Nigerian forward left to sign for Southampton. He still has a contract at the side that runs until 2027 and is valued at around €5.5m.
The 23-year-old cost Genk around €5m from French side Amiens back in the winter window of the 2022/2023 season. During his time with the French side the Nigerian scored 21 goals in 63 games. He has a similar record for Genk, with 18 goals in 65 games. He has already scored once in two games to start the 2023/2024 campaign.
Reports suggest that should Arokodare leave, Genk will look to sign a new striker before the end of the summer transfer window.
