Trabzonspor have moved closer to signing Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez from Al-Hilal, with personal terms agreed and financial issues delaying confirmation, according to 61saat.

The club continue to hunt midfield reinforcements before the window closes.

Nunez earns around 20 million euros annually at Al-Hilal. He is owed 12 million euros in outstanding dues. The amount is taxable, which has slowed talks, and he is working to settle the matter.

Talks on that front are going well. Some Trabzonspor officials believe the deal could be wrapped up at any moment, though the money will dictate the timing of any announcement.

Trabzonspor are also pursuing a foreign midfielder. An approach for a young English player, not named, was rejected by his club.

Discussions with Stuttgart’s Atakan Karazor did not produce an agreement, though the sides could return to the table in the coming period.

A reshuffle among the club’s foreign players is possible, with a tall young holding midfielder the profile sought, which may require a departure to make room.
