Pep Guardiola’s men picked up an important and hard-earned three points at Elland Road thanks to Antoine Semenyo’s first half strike.

The midfielder pounced on the stroke of half-time after meeting Rayan Ait-Nouri’s searching ball across the face of goal.

It was the finishing touch to a typically intricate passing move from City, and one that ultimately extended our unbeaten run to nine in all competitions.

The Blues had gone close to an opener before Semenyo’s strike, with Nico O’Reilly’s close-range header parried away by Karl Darlow early on, with Gianluigi Donnarumma also doing well at the other end to deny Brendan Aaronson.

But the decisive moment would follow when Rayan Cherki, Ait-Nouri and Semenyo combined down the left, with the latter firing home the game’s only goal.

Leeds continued to push City for an equaliser, but the closest either side came to troubling the net again fell our way, when Marc Guéhi’s header was clawed away by Darlow on the line.

But there’s no time to dwell on another hard-fought win, with a Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest on the horizon this Wednesday.
