In what could be a major transfer boost for Real Madrid, Bayern Munich have recently retracted their latest contract renewal offer to Alphonso Davies.

According to a report from SPORT, the German club is growing increasingly frustrated with the ongoing delays from Davies’ side.

It is no secret that Davies’ future at Bayern is uncertain, and each day it seems more likely that he will move on.

Davies’ current contract with Bayern Munich runs until 2025 and for a while now, the club has been trying to persuade him to extend this contract. However, Davies is holding out for a salary that meets his expectations.

Initially, he demanded around €20 million per season but has since lowered his demands to €16 million per season. Despite this reduction, Bayern’s highest offer has been €12 million, which they have now pulled back due to their frustration with the lack of progress.

Bayern are ready to do business

The situation is becoming more urgent for Bayern Munich. They understand that if they do not sell Davies soon, they risk losing him for nothing when his contract expires in 2025.

Reports suggest that Davies is interested in a move to Real Madrid and already has an agreement with them. This leaves Bayern with a tough decision: either negotiate a transfer deal with Real Madrid or find another club willing to meet their asking price for the Canadian star.

It is said that Bayern Munich have set Davies’ market value at €50 million, which is the starting point for any negotiations. However, Real Madrid are in no rush to sign him and have set a transfer budget of €25 million to €30 million.

They are well-covered in the left-back position with players like Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia and their plan seems to be to wait for Davies to become a free agent next year, which would allow them to sign him without paying a transfer fee.

This would put Bayern in a difficult position, as contrary to media speculation, they would prefer to sell Davies now rather than let him leave for free.

Right now, Davies is focused on his international duties with the Canadian national team in the Copa America. His immediate future with Bayern Munich is secure for another year, but the club must decide on their next steps.

They could negotiate a transfer with Real Madrid for a fee lower than their initial demand, find another buyer willing to meet their price, or keep Davies for another season and risk losing him for nothing when his contract ends.
