Moussa Soumano of AC Ajaccio is the latest in a long list of potential transfer targets to be associated with the club, as we head towards the end of the season and the opening of the summer transfer window.
Brendan Rodgers has made no bones about the fact that he would like to strengthen the squad further and bring in more additions to the wide attacking areas for competition too. With Nicolas Kühn and Jota on the wings presently and with Yang and James Forrest as back-up, the boss will no doubt be thinking towards the future with Forrest ageing and uncertainty around whether bids will arrive for Kühn in the close season.
With the fantastic form of Daizen Maeda through the middle in that main striking role as well, Rodgers’ plans may have changed when it comes to procuring another expensive centre-forward and may look to utilise those funds elsewhere in the squad. That’s all mere conjecture for now but in the meantime names continue to be linked to Rodgers’ side.

Soumano is only 19-years-old and has had a fairly good season in Ligue 2 with AC Ajaccio. AfricaFoot have reported that there is abundant interest in the man who is entering into the final year of his contract, with the Hoops’ name popping up alongside English Premier League side’s Leicester City and Brentford, with Celtic’s Champions League opponents from this season, Atalanta involved too.
It’s claimed that Brentford are eyeing up more French-based talents after the success of Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa, and have already lodged a €3 million (£2.56 million) bid for the left-winger. The man who has claimed four goals and two assists for Ajaccio this term has already been approached by the Bees, who have reached out to his entourage about potentially linking up with Thomas Frank’s side this summertime.
So if he is a Celtic target, one would think the club would have to move pretty quickly to beat the Premier League outfit to his signing. Again though, it’s merely hearsay at this point with a whole host of names being thrown about and plenty of others to follow.
